Since using the Xenon, I can't keep my mixes from sounding soft.
It seems the drums are really collapsing and transients are getting smeared.
Someone HELP ! please

here's what I mean.

PMcCMusic,

I don't know what Comp/Limiter you were using prior to Xenon, but my guess is that it was adding some higher harmonics. The reason I say this is because I took your Kingsransom.mp3 and added 3db at 4k with a Q of 0.8 (using Neon HR)and this song came back to life. Transients were more defined, drums had punch, and the guitar on the left sounded like a Strat on the neck pickup through a DR. Overall, it then sounded a lot more like some of your other stuff on your web site. To me, Xenon is a pretty transparent Limiter (compared to something like VW2).

Then again, I've been up most of the night with allergies and my ears may be deceiving me.

Good luck sorting it out,
Greg

Hi Greg,
Thanks very much for the input, I have a URS CSP before the Xenon, but it is barely compressing, maybe 1-2 dB,.
hmmm.

I'm curious, if you agree the tracks here with Xenon on them have a sort of softened sound, they don't seem to push the air, and I'd like them to have more punch.

what to do,...hmmm.

Thanks very much for taking the time to mess with my track and comment.

best-

PMcC
